Ngöndro, the preliminary or foundational practices of Vajrayana Buddhism, is a profound and powerful means of affecting transformation through purification and the vast accumulation of merit.

"If there are any wise persons who desire to be completely freed
From the hot torments of the fire pit of samsara, they should
Rely on this supreme path, Ngöndro, which, like the king of trees,
Will revive one in its cool, dense shade, enlightenment."
---His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche

This Ngöndro Retreat, March 25-April 2, 2017, will be a multi-faceted intensive for those wishing to start, resume or accomplish Ngöndro. The retreat will feature in-depth teachings and practical practice instructions on the Dudjom Tersar Ngondro by Lama Sonam Tsering Rinpoche. In addition, Sam Bercholz, senior student of Kyabje Thinley Norbu Rinpoche and author of the new book, A Guided Tour of Hell, A Graphic Memoir, will continue his series of teachings on Rinpoche’s extraordinary Ngöndro Commentary, A Cascading Waterfall of Nectar, March 25-26.

Lama Sonam Rinpoche and senior student of Kyabje Thinley Norbu Rinpoche, Amy Green, will give practical instruction on all aspects of Ngondro practice: the outer common preliminaries, taking refuge, generating bodhicitta, purifiying obscurations, accumulating merit with the mandala offering, and merging the mind with the lama's wisdom mind through Guru Yoga practice.

New students who have an interest in Vajrayana Buddhism are welcome and encouraged to attend the retreat. For more information about the Dudjom Tersar Ngondro visit our Ngondro Program webpage.
