"After our teacher passes into parinirvana we have an incredible opportunity to connect with their wisdom mind that has been uncovered from the physical elements and has merged with the vast Dharmakaya." [Lama Tharchin Rinpoche, 2012]
Please join us for the third anniversary of Lama Tharchin Rinpoche's parinirvana (dechö). We will be doing Dorsem Lama Chöpa (The Lama in the Form of Vajrasattva) practice with self-empowerment from Thursday, August 18th - Saturday, August 20th at Pema Osel Ling.
Regarding Dechö, ”De” is the time when a lama passes into Parinirvana and “Chö” is the aspect where the student can make offerings to connect with the blessings of the lama’s wisdom mind. This is therefore a time of particular significance for all of us with a Dharma connection to Lama Tharchin Rinpoche.
Lama Sonam Tsering Rinpoche said: "When our teachers pass into parinirvana, this means that through their immeasurable compassion, they will be performing their wisdom activity in a different way. One of their activities is to remind us of the inescapable truth of impermanence - to compel us to practice seriously. It is very beneficial during this time (dechö) to do Vajrasattva practice and to sponsor tsok and butterlamps, as well as offer water bowls, prostrations and circumambulations".
You may attend sessions as your schedule allows. There will be no charge for the pujas - meals are $10/meal and lodging $23/night. Register by clicking on the registration link above.
To make Offerings for the Lotus Lights, tsok, butterlamps, texts and scholarships. We will read the names of sponsors and loved ones each day during tsok. (You may email names to firstname.lastname@example.org.)
We hope to see you as we remember our precious lama and leave you with these poignant words he spoke after Dungse Thinley Norbu Rinpoche's parinirvana:
"During this time, we can remember Rinpoche's wisdom, his kindness, how much that has penetrated our mind, how our lives would be inconceivable without him. We can come together and pray... that immediately when this life has set, we can be reborn in the Pureland, that we can practice together and attain fully enlightened Buddhahood - always together."
