About the Retreat

We are excited to announce this year's Thanksgiving Retreat with Tulku Thadral Rinpoche. This year, Rinpoche will be teaching on a special Chenrezig practice: "A Blessing-filled Sadhana of Supplication to the Great Compassionate One with the Six-Syllable Mantra". Chenrezig (Skt. Avalokiteshvara) is the patron saint of Tibet, known as the Bodhisattva of Compassion. According to the text, this sadhana was spoken directly by Avalokiteshvara to Drubchen Tshultrim Zangpo, who had the same wisdom mind as Tangtong Gyalpo. The lineage was lost for some time, then rediscovered by Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo. The empowerment text was written by Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche.

Tulku Thadral Rinpoche will give the Empowerment and Oral Transmission (Lung) on November 24th at the 10:30AM session. In addition, Rinpoche will give daily teachings on the text, answer questions, and lead practice sessions.

Thanksgiving Day Potluck Invitation:

Thanksgiving 2022 Dinner Invitation

"Thanksgiving is a special day for loved ones to join together however they are able, and for that reason it is positive... We are doing this puja to pray that these turkeys be reborn in Amitabha's Pureland. This practice will focus our compassion for them and all sentient beings, including our loved ones who may be ill or have passed away."  Lama Sonam Rinpoche, 2014
