Kyabje Dudjom Rinpoche compiled this 100 Peaceful and Wrathful Deity practice, based on a Karma Lingpa treasure, as a method for practitioners to achieve fully enlightened Buddhahood by removing obstacles to the path, through restoring all broken precepts, vows and tantric samayas.

“Shitro is a special practice for all present and future bardos. In the bardo after death, when the body and mind separate, you will see the mandala of [100 Peaceful and Wrathful] deities in front of you. If you recognize them as your own wisdom phenomena you will wake up in the Pure Land. Shitro… brings great benefit to all sentient beings whether dead or living, and especially those who are directly connected with it through participation and sponsorship. It is especially good to dedicate to beings that have died. Because wisdom deity is non material wisdom and compassion… loved ones and all beings will receive benefit wherever they are, whether in the bardo or another life or realm. This wisdom and compassion pervades everything and everywhere like the sky. (Click here for Lama Tharchin Rinpoche's full words on the importance of Shitro practice.)

We did a Neydren ceremony daily to help sentient beings who have passed and are wandering in the bardo. This ceremony is effective for beings who have died, no matter how long ago.

Summer Retreat Overview Schedule

May 29 - June 7   Orgyen Khandro Norlha
June 9 - 14   Troma Nagmo Ngondro

"Our precious Lama Tharchin Rinpoche established a one month Summer Retreat starting in 1989, calling it our “sangha dharma party”, and we have continued it without interruption to this day. Every year we do practices of the Three Roots deities and conclude with Drubchen (Great Accomplishment). These practices help to counteract negative circumstances for each practitioner, as well as those negative circumstances which cause so much hardship for the whole world, including disease, famine, war, conflict, and especially epidemic diseases like we are experiencing now."[Lama Sonam Rinpoche]

To continue the unbroken tradition started by Lama Tharchin Rinpoche of the Vajrayana Foundation's Summer Retreat, we will be holding our 31st annual month-long retreat by live streaming this year.

These retreats will be offered over livestream to allow for Sangha to join us during these difficult times, please click the link for the retreat you are interested in for more information and to register.

Dudjom Sangye Pema Shepa Rinpoche is postponing his visit to bestow the Dudjom Lingpa empowerments and lead the Dorje Drolo Drupchen that were scheduled for this summer at Pema Osel Ling. We will let you know as soon as he reschedules.
